Course Overview

This 10-part course honors the human animal through health, movement, and athletic practices relevant to today’s social and ecological challenges. Designed for coaches and athletes seeking to refine their practice and build community, it offers fresh perspectives on the athletic enterprise. While focusing on training and performance, we’ll also explore the human predicament, neuroscience of learning and stress, social rapport, rhythm, meditation, and experiential design. Each session begins with light movement and meditation, followed by a short presentation on topics like the body, training, and the athlete's role in the modern world. Guided discussions help apply insights to your life and work. You’ll leave equipped with tools to support the growth of your students, clients, and athletes.

Frank Forencich

Frank Forencich is an internationally-recognized expert on human health and performance. As an engaging speaker and movement teacher, he brings a unique, “long body” perspective to the human predicament and offers practical solutions for some of the most pressing problems of our age. Frank has traveled to Africa on several occasions to study human evolution and is the creator of the health leadership organization Exuberant Animal®. He is the author of several books including Beautiful Practice, Exuberant Animal and Change Your Body, Change the World. Frank has presented at numerous venues including Google, General Electric, Stanford Design School, the Robert Conn Heart Conference and the Ancestral Health Symposium.
