About Kate...

Kate Starre

Kate is a 3 x Olympian, winning gold medals in hockey at the 1996 Atlanta and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Kate also went to the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics as part of the Hockeyroos staff. During her career Kate also won 2 World Cup gold medals and a Commonwealth Games gold medal. Kate has coached in the US college system at North Western University and Ohio State University and in the UK premier league as a hockey coach and strength and conditioning specialist. She was also the Fremantle Dockers AFLW High Performance Manager for 4 years in which time the team made a preliminary finals appearance. Kate has a Bachelor of Theology, a Masters of strength and conditioning and has just begun a PhD program at Victoria University looking at women in leadership positions in high performance sport. Kate is also a research assistant at the Australian National University working on a research grant project looking at gender inclusion in elite sport.
